Where Great Golf Meets Great Food: Slice Society

For many in the Chula Vista community, the CVGC restaurant was more than just a restaurant. It was a place to grab a quick breakfast before a round of golf, to sit down with friends over a sandwich and a cold drink, or to simply relax and enjoy the views of the course after a long day. When the restaurant closed its doors in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it left behind more than an empty dining room—it left behind a quiet space where laughter and conversation once filled the air.

Now, after four years, our restaurant – “The Slice Society” has reopened, and it feels like welcoming back an old friend. The space is both familiar and new. The tables and bar have been completely redone, bringing a polished and inviting energy to the room, while a shuffleboard table adds a playful element that encourages guests to stay awhile. Behind the bar, a full selection of spirits and beers on draft sets the stage for everything from a celebratory toast after a round to a casual afternoon drink with friends. With TVs mounted throughout the restaurant, guests can stop by to catch their favorite football matchup or follow the latest golf tournament while enjoying good food and company.

The menu strikes a balance between comfort and variety. In the mornings, the smell of fresh chilaquiles, pancakes, and golden waffles fills the air, reminding visitors why breakfast at the course has always been a tradition worth keeping. By midday, the focus shifts to shareable plates and hearty lunches—crispy mac and cheese bites, rolled tacos, wings, and tater tots for the table, followed by classics like burgers, club sandwiches, and French dips. Even the hot dog with chips, humble as it is, feels right at home alongside fresh salads and a cold beer from the tap.

Slice Society is open Wednesday through Sunday, from seven in the morning until five in the evening, perfectly timed for early golfers, midday visitors, and anyone looking for a casual spot to unwind. For golfers, it offers the chance to fuel up before a tee time or toast to a round well played. For neighbors and families, it’s a welcoming stop for breakfast, lunch, or just a place to connect.

The reopening of Slice Society is more than the return of a restaurant. It represents resilience, renewal, and the joy of being together again. It reminds us that even after years of silence, familiar spaces can come alive with new memories. Whether you come for the food, the shuffleboard, the full bar and beers on draft, the big game on TV, or simply the feeling of community, Slice Society is ready to welcome you back.

Yes! Our restaurant spaces are accessible for disabled individuals. We offer wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms, and seating areas, and our team is always happy to provide additional assistance if needed. If you enter through the front of our clubhouse, it will lead you to these accommodations.
